11th Annual Spirit of Flight Day

New Location for Annual Museum Fundraiser

Westminster, Colorado, Friday, June 7, 2019:  The Spirit of Flight air museum will celebrate the 11th Annual Spirit of Flight Day museum fundraiser on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 10am-4pm.

The event will be held at the new Spirit of Flight History Gallery located at 108th and Wadsworth in Westminster, CO and will feature flyovers of planes from other Colorado based museums, a vintage car show, and the History Gallery itself.

“This is the 11th annual celebration of aviation,” said Gordon Page, Founder and President of the Spirit of Flight Center.  “This year we are at a new location in Westminster.  We are excited to show the local community the world class collection, and to have a day of fun with family and friends,” Page went on to say.

In addition to the WWII aircraft flyovers, this year’s event will feature a big car show,  WWII Veterans and Tributes, Re-enactors, Vendors, Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser, Lulu’s BBQ, Music, Pub, Museum Gallery tours, and a special presentation by the FAA.

“We are excited to show off the new History Gallery,” said Page.  “We will also unveil our plans on Spirit of Flight Day for a new museum facility that will be built at Rocky Mountain Metro Airport.”

The 2018 Spirit of Flight Day event attracted over 2000 visitors and is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the non-profit Spirit of Flight museum.

“We worked extremely hard to relocate the museum from Erie to Westminster,” said museum Director, Chris Pedersen.  He added, “Visitors won’t want to miss the Women in Aviation room at the new Gallery.  It’s amazing!”
